Is Order3 a good Odoo Inventory alternative?
If Odoo is your whole ERP and it's working, no. Don't unwind a functioning ERP to adopt a focused tool. The real comparison is for teams choosing now, or teams that started an Odoo rollout for inventory and found themselves maintaining an ERP to get a stock record. If inventory and purchasing are the actual problem, Order3 gets you there in days without the configuration surface. If you want the whole business on one system and can support the rollout, Odoo is a legitimate choice.
Odoo's community edition is free. Why pay for anything else?
Free software isn't free operation. Self-hosted Odoo means somebody owns hosting, updates, module compatibility, and configuration. That's a real ongoing cost in time even when the license is zero. For teams with that capacity, it's a genuinely good deal. For teams without it, the hosted Odoo plans or a focused tool like Order3 (also free for small workspaces) are usually cheaper in practice. Can I import my Odoo data into Order3?
Yes. Odoo exports products, vendors, and stock quantities as CSV, and Order3 imports them with guided location mapping. Odoo's routes, rules, and multi-step operations don't map one-to-one, because Order3's model is deliberately simpler, so most teams use the migration to restate locations around how stock actually moves. Records from other Odoo modules stay in Odoo or whatever replaces it.
What does Order3 do that Odoo Inventory does not?
AI-drafted purchasing is the core difference: Order3 reads low stock, lead times, and open POs, drafts the reorder with the reasoning attached, and holds it for human approval. Odoo's reordering rules can auto-generate POs, but the logic is configured min/max, not drafted with context. What does Odoo do that Order3 does not?
